epic dance floor

"Close to perfection"

submission: epic dance floor
date: November 13, 2009

I agree with Prodigal: it does sound like a club beat from the 70's. It's catchy and well mastered. Not much more to say... I can't find anything I don't like about it.

It works very well as a loop so it would surely fit in a Flash. The only reason I don't give it a 10 is because of that though - it's a short loop. (It would be cool if you extended it to a whole song. ;) )

Well, overall, very nice work!

thanks! i am planing on making a long loop. but now, i will be working on one.

"Tasty"

date: October 31, 2009

I like the intro. The progression of the song could be a bit better though, and the cymbal is a bit loud.

I also noticed that the notes played with the pizzicato (I think that's what it is) goes a bit too high for the instrument in some places. (The notes I used for the square synth.)

Good stuff: The instruments sounds great, of course. I didn't expect to hear a trumpet all out of sudden in the end but it fitted well. In fact, the whole song is well composed.

Conclusively... it's a good remix. Mi likey! :D

Author's Response:

As a matter of fact, the pizzicato couldn't play the notes your synth had :O

Everyone always says my cymbals are loud, but they are supposed to be so, that way they can add more power, but I suppose if everyone dislikes them, I'll lower them.

I'm glad you liked it :)

Hmm, I must have missed the original; I didn't recognize the melody. Anyway, I can hear that you've put a lot of work in the drums. As you said, the song is short and repeats itself to a degree, but the uplifting melody and interesting use of percussions totally makes up for that. It sounds... fresh. Yeah, fresh!

Author's Response:

I forgive you for missing the original, I missed this review until now :P Ha... fresh? I never would've described this like that, but yeah... actually, I like that. This song is fresh :D Thanks for the listen!

"Review?"

date: October 5, 2009

It's early in the day. The sun is shining. The birds are tweeting. I'm leaving the Hyrule Castle to travel around the big big world. There are many dangers out there and I will face them all! The greatest of adventures lies ahead...

Yeah. Adventures, dangers and long green caps was what I thought of.

"Dance, but with attitude"

submission: [219] ATE-E
date: October 5, 2009

I hear a mixture of slow dance, hip-hop and game music in this one. There's not much progression going on, but everything flows very well. The melody sounds Egyptian in some way.

It's a very nice piece. Great work!

"Absolutely beautiful"

date: October 5, 2009

A very relaxing and emotional song. It's well composed and the chosen instruments fits perfectly. The melody is so sad I might start to cry at any moment now too. *sniff*

There's nothing to complain about in this song. It just blew my mind. Thanks for sharing.

LB + Song of Storms Remix

"Epic"

date: September 29, 2009

The last version was good, but this is freaking epic! The rain and thunder in the beginning, the vocals, then this captivating melody fading in. The percussions are great, the song is well composed and well mastered.

This song is so close to perfection that it's scary. It sure earned my 10. Great work!

[ moss and drumkits ]

"No bass"

date: August 1, 2009

The drums are great, and the melody is quite catchy. Got me thinking of music for some old retro game. But where's the bass? There's a baseline, but no BASS?! D:

Also, the volume is very low...

Anyway, I enjoyed the song. I think that's what matters. :)

August 2, 2009

Author's Response:

Yay, glad you liked it! I'm sorry to have no bass, but I apparently can't make anything outside Thor or Reason's Subtractor synth... I tried a 3xOsc, but it sounded too similar to the melody so I gave up and used a TS404 sound in FL.

And also, I was too lazy to do any mastering :( I guess a simple compressor and maximizer would work... ha, I'm going to go back and fix everything tomorrow :)

Thanks for the review, good sir!

"Quite easygoing"

submission: Breakd0wn
date: August 1, 2009

I liked the instruments you've used a lot, though the song is a bit too empty. I was waiting for something to happen, but it never really did.

It's well structured. I was never like "What the hell was that?" - everything flowed very well. I liked the rumbling sound in the end.

The title fits well.

I'd say you did a nice work on this one. Keep it up!

Harder Than Ever

"A little empty"

submission: Harder Than Ever
date: July 23, 2009

This is a good base but it feels like something is missing, especially in the beginning. It gets better in the middle of the song.

I think it sounds a bit too generic for my taste. It's mostly just a kick and a saw. I like that submarine sound though.

July 23, 2009

Author's Response:

I am learning that i am missing somthing mostly because im shifting from trance/dance sounding music to hardstyle. I'll have to play around with precusion instruments to get rid of that empty feeling.

Thx for the review
