That 1 + 1 equals 2 is quite easy to figure out. But if I apply this calculation to the real world I find that it's not always true. 1 pile of sand + 1 pile of sand = 1 bigger pile of sand; thus 1 + 1 = 1. If I then combine these two calculations i find that 1 = 2. Quite confusing, right? I know!
