Pretty sweet

It sounds very old video game-ish, like in the first Crash games, and you put everything together quite well.

And dude, don't stop making music! At least not after just one song. :P I want to hear more from you!

Deep into the caverns...

I really like this song (slash loop). It sounds professional and it fits the title perfectly. Loops perfectly too! :D Good choice of instruments. The brass (I think it's called that) really adds a lot to the whole thing. You also put together the structure of the song very well.

I think this is the best RL song yet. I've said it before and I'm sayin' it again: keep up the great work! ^__^

Darkmaster603 responds:

heh, thanks! I tried a new composing style with this song, and I'm pretty happy with it. I also messed with filters and delay and LFO things to make the ears not get bored, it's just a whole new level of customization I've never utilized before. this has also been my first ambient track, so it's different not having a song with a lead in it lol.

Thanks for the review and the listen =)

Quite good, but needs a little work

The piano sounds very "midi", as mentioned before, and there wasn't much of a progression in the song, but I thought the strings sounded very nice. The song was just OK at first but when the strings started, well, that's when the song started for real! And, yeah... don't know what more to say. Keep up the good work. :)

Darkmaster603 responds:

Heh, thanks. I agree this needs a lot of work, it's just I totally forgot about the contest lol. I'm redoing this, and making it much better. The computer I had to export this on was really crappy, and I originally had about 10 instruments in it. Like I said, I'm redoing this, and making i much better =P

Thanks for the listen and review though!

Mmmm mmm

It sounds very professional, and it's one of your best songs I must say. Everything flowed perfectly throughout the whole song.

The instruments and percussions you picked are very clear and fits very well together. The melody is totally sweet and easy to follow. It's quite a happy and brightening tune.

I really feel like I am up in the sky among the clouds. Over Africa. The percussions you use sounds very African. I just love that!

This is quality stuff! Can't wait to hear the rest of the album! :D

Lamplighter responds:

Professional? Cool! I definitely think this is one of my best songs, but professional-sounding is more that I expected. :)

Still not a fan of the bass, but I can agree with the other instruments fitting well. I actually took the time to put sounds together myself (except the BooBass, o course) so I think that helps.

It must be the bongos that make it sound African... and that's cool because I love Africa! Never actually been there, though...

Thanks for the review, I'll let you know as soon as I upload other tunes from the album!

Different indeed

The synth sounded awesome, but the cymbal got annoying after a while. I liked how the song changed character for a while at 0:41. It's a really nice ending too. Great work!

Awww

It's so sad. :'( It's also, as said, very calm and easy to listen to. Sounds very medieval in a way.

Keep up the work :)

Darkmaster603 responds:

Thanks! I never meant for this to be sad, but it just came out that way. Glad you liked it though.

Enjoyable

That's some pretty nice electronic sounds there. But the song sounds kinda muffled, and it gets very repetitive at the end. I enjoyed the first part the most. Hmm, and I think it could use some reverb in some places.

Keep up the good work!

Better

Sounds much better than the first one. It reminds me a lot of an old classical piece (of which the name I can't remember). I like how it got that tonal sound to it. It's simple, but it sounds great.

Darkmaster603 responds:

yea, I always really liked tonality in music, and have now figured out the secret. I wish I hadn't though, because it is so simple to create and makes it harder for me to appreciate, but it can make a real moving sound that's easy to listen to. Glad you liked it =)

Eh... yeah

It would fit well as background music for a short while in a game. It gets very repetitive over time. Though I like the melody a lot, so I think this could become something really good if you made it into a whole song.

Darkmaster603 responds:

Yea, I am gonna try to make some of these menu loops into real song. This isn't really meant to be a really big thing, just the intro to a game. In fact, it was created just for the games menu. Glad you liked it a little bit at least lol.

Thanks for the review and the time =)

It's ok

It really sounds like a work in progress. It sounds a bit too mechanical and uniform. The first 30 seconds were quite good, but then it got kinda boring. I don't know what else to say. It needs more work.

Darkmaster603 responds:

Yea, I'll have to work on that. Lately I've been having trouble accepting my work, so maybe I'll just let what happens happen instead of trying to make everything sound "good". Thanks for the critic, it defiantly has me thinking of new things for this song.
