Eh... yeah

It would fit well as background music for a short while in a game. It gets very repetitive over time. Though I like the melody a lot, so I think this could become something really good if you made it into a whole song.

Darkmaster603 responds:

Yea, I am gonna try to make some of these menu loops into real song. This isn't really meant to be a really big thing, just the intro to a game. In fact, it was created just for the games menu. Glad you liked it a little bit at least lol.

Thanks for the review and the time =)

It's ok

It really sounds like a work in progress. It sounds a bit too mechanical and uniform. The first 30 seconds were quite good, but then it got kinda boring. I don't know what else to say. It needs more work.

Darkmaster603 responds:

Yea, I'll have to work on that. Lately I've been having trouble accepting my work, so maybe I'll just let what happens happen instead of trying to make everything sound "good". Thanks for the critic, it defiantly has me thinking of new things for this song.

So sad...

A man walks in the middle of the street all alone. The buildings are cold and lifeless. He's thinking back on his beautiful wife and his young child, standing in front of their house on the county. The sun was shining, and a warm summer breeze swept by. They were laughing. They were happy. But they are not there anymore. Everything is gone. The man sees a shadow in front of him. He looks up, but nothing is there.

That's how I felt while I listened to this. Great work! *sob*

Lamplighter responds:

Aww... I'm glad this told a story, but at the same time I'm so sad for this man! Depressing music is so... depressing. (No kidding!)

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the review!

The title fits well

It's very soft and calm. It actually feels like I'm looking out on the world through a window while listening to it. Really nice, but very short.

Lamplighter responds:

Yay... I guess that nonexistent study where they proved that the improvement of title relevance increases at a rate directly proportional to the amount of time spent creating the music the title is attached to is actually true?

Or is that too nerdy?

Sounds ok

A bit boring, but nothing too bad. I think this would fit well into a game as an intro or something. It's a calm song in a typical medieval style. Quite nice melody. And, yeah. Good job! :)

Darkmaster603 responds:

Well, I thought background music shouldn't be complex or anything. It's for sure going into my friends game, and maybe into another I'm working on. Thanks for the review!

Great sequel

It feels like everything has been taken a bit further from the first song. The planet is really alive now when the boy and the girl has painted it with colors. They are now traveling together through a beautiful world, visiting all kinds of people. And everyone is happy.

Excellent work on all instruments. The melody and the mood was recognizable but yet unique compared to the first one. I think you're getting better and better with making music. :)

I liked this one a lot, and I'm sure Krista will like it too. Keep up the great work!

Lamplighter responds:

Thank you! I was really looking forward to this review, and I'm glad you think this is good! I'm still going through and fine-tuning everything, but mostly everything is done. I'm glad I continued the story of these kids well...

Yay... thanks for the review, ReFreezed! I hope Krista likes this, too.

Not bad

Good work on the piano there, although it sounds a bit mechanical. But it's not so strange if you only put 15 minutes into it.

I agree with Cormaster9000 about the instruments: I can imagine strings and some brass coming in in the end. That would be nice.

Too bad it's so short. Don't get me wrong when I say I hope it doesn't get into that collab, cause I'd really like to hear a full version. :)

Lamplighter responds:

Yep, I'm going to make this into a full song. And when I do, it's going to be less mechanical. I need to get a MIDI connecter so I can play off my keyboard, that would hep... Thanks for the review!

So very calm

I totally love this stuff, and I agree with SteveO526. The only thing that annoyed me was the ending: there was no fade-out. Other than that it was perfect.

Check out my newest song, will ya? It's an ambient one too. :D

Lamplighter responds:

Thanks for the review! Yeah, I work with the Fruity Loops edition of Fruity Loops (just realized how redundant that sounds :) so I can't automate volume... is there another way to do that than with automation clips?

Oh, and I'll certainly check out your latest song!

Great piece

Nice piano sound you got there ;)

I don't have much to complain at. The delay does makes it a bit less "classical" but it doesn't make the song any worse. In fact, it probably sounds better with delay than without.

As for the randomness... it didn't seem random at all to me. O_o Everything is quite well organized. The song would fit very well in a movie or a game. At some places it actually made me think of Metroid, for some reason. It sounds a bit, as shizeet here below said, free and mysterious.

And it's nice how you dedicate this song to that girl, Krista. I hope she'll hear it. :) Great work!

Lamplighter responds:

Thanks for the review! I'm glad everyone else likes this better than I do! I guess it's true that a man is his own worst critic. ;)

Metroid... hmm, never heard any of that stuff. I'll see if I can find a copy of the soundtrack and figure out that reference.

I couldn't finish this song in time to give it to Krista before our Christmas break, but I'm going to try to give it to her when we get back to school. :)

Loops quite good :)

Calm, soothing, relaxing - all these words describes this piece. It's a bit short. Half of the song is the intro and the rest is the outro :P, but I really don't know how long loops should be. Oh well.

It's a very nice flute sound you got there, and the melody is simple yet um... nice. :) Don't know what else to say. Keep up the good work!

Lamplighter responds:

Yeah, I know this isn't really much of anything. I'm glad you thought it was calm and soothing, that's what I was going for. This is ambient, after all! :)

Thanks for the review!
